After
the talk on the Theology of the Body at the last social, we began reflection
with a chastity rhapsody that was learned by those teens that attended a talk as
a part of World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain. There are only three parts performed
in this version instead of the usual four. It came out great!
Sunday, March 4, the Youth Band
performed for Spirit Day hosted at St. Sylvester. Spirit Day is a retreat held
for Confirmation students from various parishes. There are multiple Spirit Days
held within our Vicariate. This one hosted close to 300 people! Have you seen the Spirit Day Mass video? Click below!
On the bus traveling to Chestnut Mountain for our
overnight Ski Trip, the Youth Group decided to raise the energy of the
bus by delivering a Grammy caliber rendition of the Pokemon Theme Song.
Enjoy!
On Sunday,
September 11, 2011, the Thursday
Night Prayer Group and the Youth
Group joined together to remember
all those who passed in and were
affected by the 9/11 attacks. The
prayer service consisted of
testimonials, a reflection (led by
Fr. Nick), and music (performed by
the Youth Group Band and Thursday
Night Prayer Ministry), among other
things.
The
Youth Group would like to thank everyone who came out to show their support for
the car wash. We raised over $1,000! Thank You!
This program took place over the course of the
last three Saturdays of August, 8/14/10 - 8/21/10 - 8/28/10, in a retreat styled
format. Each day lasted from 10pm to 4pm, would begin and end in prayer, and
lunch was always served. The program was led by the youth minister, Joshua
Smyser and a deacon, Bill Smyser.
