Eco-Ambassadors Project

Faith in Place seeks to hire one Project Coordinator, four Lead Environmental Educators, and Classroom Assistants to work at our 4 community designated Youth-Eco Ambassador sites. Faith in Place in collaboration with the Chicago Urban League and with sponsorship from ComEd will be training Youth Eco-Ambassadors to educate the community about Smart Meters, the Smart Grid, and Environmental Stewardship.

Seventy students ages 15-19 (10th grade and up) will participate in an 8-week summer project at one of four (4) community hosting sites on Chicago’s south side and a near western suburb.

Youth will participate in environmental education training and outreach, field trips, and ComEd Smart Meter and Smart Grid community events scheduled during the summer, which will constitute approximately 12-15 hours of work.

Further year-round work opportunities will be granted to 15 youth. All activities take place under facilitation of the Project Coordinator and the classroom support and supervision of a Lead Environmental Educator and Classroom Assistant/Interns at our four (4) community designated sites.
