Message From Our Pastor

Making A Pledge

Community Center Programs

After meeting with committee members, the architects and the alderman, we have a first design proposal for our new center. Our Center will only be as big as we can afford it to be, so this design is not final. However, we also know that our parish is growing, so we must ask everyone to truly consider making a sacrifice for the next three years when they make a pledge commitment. We have many plans for the future, including social activities, sporting programs, a Day Care program, programs for senior citizens and youth. In order to provide these programs and minister to people in the future, we have to build a center that is large enough to grow with us. Currently, we hope to build the largest possible building in order to develop these important ministries for our parishioners and the surrounding community. We are planning for a three story building where the social service programs (food pantries, Day Care, etc) would be located on the first floor and meeting space for parish groups, the RCCH and community groups would be on the upper two floors. The basement would be for storage and expansion. We would also have a large hall, suitable to be used as a gymnasium for sports activities or for parish social gatherings. This large hall can also be rented out for cotillions and other parties.

If we cannot afford to finish all three floors, we will leave the third floor unfinished until later. This will give us space for our ministries to grow. We will expand into these areas as our finances permit and the needs of our community require these other programs. If we choose to build a smaller building, then we will not be able to expand our ministries as the parish grows. Ultimately, this means that our parish will also stop growing because we will not be able to minister to the needs of our people.

Cost Estimates

The cost estimates of this project are from 5½ to 8½ million dollars, depending upon how much of it we build now. Sale of unneeded property will provide nearly half of this money. Parishioners’ pledges and donations from interested partners will determine how much of this project we can afford to build.

Floor Plans

The first floor shows space for the Service Center, MAC program, large hall (includes basketball court), kitchen, bathrooms, elevator, storage, and teen room.

The second floor shows four large meeting rooms which can be divided into smaller classrooms for CCD classes or small group meetings.

The third floor shows two rooms reserved for the Hispanic Charismatic Renewal (RCCH) and three other spaces for storage or other programs.
