The Legion of Mary
The Legion
of Mary is a group devoted to Mary, the Mother of Jesus as the first of
disciples. In addition to a devotion of prayer and change of life,
the members of the Legion (legionnaires) make weekly contact with
people to evangelize and bring back to the Church those who have left or
fallen away for various reasons. This outreach takes on many forms,
including door-to-door visits, passing out medals and brochures, helping
the homebound and reaching out to the alienated Catholics.
All of their
work is done in a context of prayer and devotion, with great reliance upon
the intercession of the Blessed Mother to provide the grace of her Son,
Jesus in redeeming the world.
